What happens at a Pinner Total Krav Maga class?

As with most combat systems and martial arts, we start by lining up and bowing to the instructors, who in return will bow to you.  All classes involve some functional fitness, power exercises and warm up games.  We typically then work on some striking and specific Krav Maga techniques from our syllabus.  The class normally ends with some stress drills and summary training exercises.  We often split the class into beginners and advance groups, so don't worry if you're just joining us.  The instructor will demonstrate and teach you the various techniques along with the tactical behaviour that comes with Krav Maga training.  We work on prevention and awareness, as well as the combat elements of Krav Maga, so you'll get a good understanding of how to use tactical behaviour to avoid confrontations.

With Total Krav Maga, you're guaranteed a good work out whilst learning some very effective self-defence.  Expect to sweat a little, make some friends and enjoy becoming more confident.

COVID-19 Temporary Training Measures

During the current UK health crisis, Total Krav Maga classes are taught within government COVID-19 guidelines and in line with advice from Sport England.  All active instructors have completed a Sport England COVID awareness certified course.

We operate a booking system for all classes, to meet track and trace compliance should it be required.  We are exempt from the ‘rule of six’ as we have been following COVID safe measures since reopening in August 2020.  We have submitted risk assessments to all gyms we hire and have also been in consultation with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to meet the government requirements for COVID secure training in venues that also have COVID safe measures in place.  We have outlined our training style, COVID safe practices and mitigating circumstances, where partner work can be conducted safely with the Dept for DCMS.

You will be required to bring your own face covering to classes.  A face covering is mandatory for certain drills and exercises where the social distancing measures cannot be guaranteed.
